Information Management (2 of 2)
Below you will find a few images from the recent copy of Information Management in regards to Analytics [source]. A little bit over a year ago, I posted about the most desirable traits of recent graduates with analytics being third. It’s no surprise to me that if you want to be successful, get a good job, and keep a job that having powerful analytic skills will be the key.
At least a third of companies surveyed stated they have a shortage of analytic talent!
Fifty percent of them said the shortage will be more significant in 12 months!
Sixty-three percent of the companies surveyed stated they need to increase their analytic capabilities!
A little less than half of all business decisions are still made based on judgement…

Do you know if there is a way to get a hold of the raw data? I was able to find this: http://www.accenture.com/Global/Technology/Information_Mgmt/Information_Mgmt_Services/R_and_I/SurveyAchieved.htm , but there is no raw data there.
That first pair of charts on the two questions, without question needs to be redone.
The reason I would like to see the raw data is to see how the managers who responded yes/no to the first question answered the second.

Joe – thanks for the comment.
According to the source at Information Management, it say the detailed findings are available at Accenture, but not the data. Best bet would be to try and contact Greg Todd at Accenture, who I’ve seen quite often in the publication. His email is greg.b.todd[at]accenture.com
Let me know what you find out.

Hi,
This is true that companies face shortage of talents with good analytical skills. What do you think of companies hiring people from colleges in this recession period where the campus placements is relatively very low compared to the recent past. This time can be utilized for hiring those talents with less competition and also can provide a relatively less compensation. What is your view on this?
